Cádiz y provincia en autocaravana
En este viaje en autocaravana por Cádiz y su provincia, hemos utilizado los recursos habituales en cualquiera de nuestros viajes, y, en este caso concreto, también hemos recurrido a información facilitada por el blog de viajes viajandoconmanuela.com y a la proporcionada por la guía Pequeños Pueblos con Encanto de El País Aguilar, edic octubre 1997, que conservo y utilizo desde entonces.
Aunque inicialmente el viaje estaba previsto para el mes de marzo, nos ponemos en marcha el viernes 03/07 y tenemos prevista la vuelta para el viernes 17/07.
Lugares visitados
Los lugares a visitar, y por orden alfabético, eran:

Lugares no visitados, de los previstos
Sin embargo, por determinadas circunstancias, no visitamos:
Medina Sidonia, Puerto Santa María (aunque fuimos, pero el ambiente era tórrido, de fuego, y nos volvimos), Algodonales y Olvera (tras ver Zahara y Setenil, decidimos utilizar el tiempo en otros lugares), y tampoco fuimos al Parque de Doñana (el calor era sofocante).
Sí estuvimos en Jerez de la Frontera, y también aprovechamos para ir a Ronda, en Málaga.
Lo cierto es que el fuerte calor reinante nos modificó la ruta y el ánimo, cada día.
Idea inicial
Nuestra idea inicial era hacer este viaje en marzo, hubiera sido muy distinto, mucho mejor.
Siempre hemos evitado salir en julio y agosto, por el calor y por la aglomeración de gente (que incrementa precios, disminuye espacios y atención, y limita ver adecuadamente los lugares, perdiendo gran parte de su atractivo).
Pero este año, que nunca olvidaremos por la Covid-19, ha sido, está siendo muy diferente, muy atípico y, por qué no decirlo, malo.
03/07/2020 Viernes
Nos ponemos en marcha con destino a Salamanca, en concreto al Polígono Industrial Montalvo, donde hay un párking, con servicios de aguas, junto a una estación de servicio de Repsol, en la que podemos abastecernos de carburante y comida.
A escasos metros, también tenemos el pueblo de Garbajosa de la Sierra, donde pueden hacerse compras o pasear por un agradable parque a la entrada.
Las coordenadas de este lugar donde pernoctaremos (ya lo hemos hecho unas cuantas veces antes) son: 40º56’22”, -5º39’18”.
La distancia a recorrer son unos 500km.

Residencia base: Chipiona, Área Puerto Deportivo
Seguimos ruta hasta llegar a Chipiona, al Puerto Deportivo, donde utilizaremos como base el área de la Junta de Andalucía:

El área está bien, pegada al puerto deportivo y a una playita muy agradable, y muy cerca a pie de Chipiona, pero carece de sombra, no tiene árbol alguno y resulta complicado pasar las horas centrales del día con un sol de justicia cayendo a plomo (fundido). Las plazas están limitadas por troncos en el suelo, y no son amplias; si sacas el toldo te metes en la de al lado.
El funcionamiento del área está automatizado, trataré de resumirlo:
1º.- te acercas a la barrera para que lea la matrícula, vas al poste centralita y te registras (nombre y apellidos, teléfono, email, matrícula; es requisito), marcas los días que quieres estar, la plaza donde te quieres colocar (de las libres), y pagas,
2º.- mueves hacia atrás la autocaravana y vuelves a acercarte para que reconozca la matrícula, se levanta la barrera y vas a la plaza seleccionada,
3º.- vuelves a la centralita si quieres disponer de uno de los enchufes de luz (límite de 12h, 1€; si quieres puedes ampliar después, o seleccionar x horas); sólo hay 2 postes con enchufes, cada uno con 4 unidades; hay que marcar uno de los enchufes libres a los que físicamente y por distancia puedas acceder,
4º.- para desaguar, vaciar el wc y llenar agua, hay que pagar en la centralita, 3€ cada vez que lo haces, siendo conveniente hacer las tres cosas a la vez, de forma consecutiva, porque hagas 1, 2, o 3, pagarás cada vez los 3€; la centralita te va llevando por el menú, desde “servicios”, empezando por el wc (vaciado y limpiado) y pasando luego al llenado; a un ritmo normal, no hay problema de cantidad de agua.
La distancia a recorrer son unos 600km.
Aunque en el final del viaje sí utilizamos este área, los primeros días estuvimos en una calle de Costa Ballena, apartada de las urbanizaciones y hoteles, con escaso tráfico, y con árboles a ambos lados, de tal manera que puedes moverte buscando sombra. Coincidimos allí con otras autocaravanas, y habitualmente pasaban responsables de la seguridad de Costa Ballena.
Opciones desechadas
En este punto, decir que antes de decidir quedarnos en la citada calle de Costa Ballena, fuimos a dos áreas de autocaravanas y un cámping en la zona de Sanlúcar de Barrameda, así como a otro cámping cerca de Costa Ballena, y, por diferentes razones (acceso complicado, falta de espacio, falta de sombra, sin luz eléctrica, o poco adecuados para autocaravanas no pequeñas) y tras unos cuantos kilómetros de carreteras y calor, desistimos de todos ellos.
Sólo el área de Sanlúcar de Camino de la Reyerta, 12€/d de coordenadas 36.76204 -6.39569, de haber tenido luz (la existente, creo recordar que de 3A, de pago +3€/d, no permite ni utilizar el secador) y sitio (en sombra), hubiera evitado nuestra peregrinación.
Puede parecer exagerado la referencia al fuerte calor, pero se han superado los 40º más de una vez, y han habido noches en que no ha bajado de casi 30º.
Alternativa
La otra cuestión importante a considerar es que, aunque es posible moverse por la provincia con la autocaravana (ver el viaje realizado por viajandoconmanuela.com), y más en concreto por la Serranía Blanca, comprobamos in situ que no resulta fácil hacerlo, tal y como nos había indicado previamente nuestro hijo (que está trabajando en un hotel de Costa Ballena y había recorrido ya la provincia).
Para evitar dificultades, alquilamos un coche y pudimos hacer los recorridos fácilmente. Comprobamos que yendo en la autocaravana hubiéramos tenido que subir unas cuantas cuestas pronunciadas y hacer largos recorridos a pie en muchos lugares de la sierra.

Costa Ballena
Estos dos días los dedicamos a descansar del viaje realizado hasta aquí y, sobre todo, visitar a nuestro retoño y su pareja en Costa Ballena.
Es un lugar muy agradable, muy bien cuidado, hermoso y tranquilo, si bien totalmente enfocado al turismo.
El lugar donde tenemos estacionada la autocaravana está a pocos metros de donde trabaja y a unos 2km de donde viven.

Inicialmente, teníamos previsto visitar Medina Sidonia, pero fuimos a Cádiz capital.

Seguimos camino con destino a Medina Sidonia.
Los lugares a visitar son, por este orden: Arco y Plaza de la Pastora, Iglesia de Santa María Mayor Coronada, Castillo, Villa Vieja, Arco de Belén, y Caballerizas del Duque.
La gastronomía local se basa en los platos de caza (vg: venado), caracoles, espárragos y tortillas de camarones, en tanto la repostería utiliza miel y almendras, acorde con su origen árabe: alfajores y amarguillos.
La artesanía local se centra en los objetos de esparto, cestos principalmente.
Utilizaremos un párking gratuito sito en: Calle de Pimenio, 2, Medina-Sidonia 11170, cuyas coordenadas son: 36.460187, -5.929785.

Los lugares a visitar son, por este orden: Puente de la Constitución, Castillo Santa Catalina, Baluarte de Candelaria, Monumento Cortes de Cádiz, Centro urbano, Iglesia y Plaza de San Juan de Dios, Ayuntamiento, Catedral, Torre Tavira, Teatro Falla, Arbol del Mora, Arco y Playa de la Caleta.
La distancia a recorrer, ida y vuelta, son unos 110km.
Los desplazamientos a pie suponen unos 5km.
Qué mejor día para visitar la ciudad que un 7 de Julio, San Fermín.
Pues bien, en las horas centrales del día se superaron los 45º, menos mal que el casco urbano abunda en calles estrechas, con sombra y relativo frescor, amén de lugares preciosos para ver y disfrutar, y mucho cachondeo en las camisetas y recuerdos que llenan las tiendas de souvenirs.
Habiendo aparcado en la zona de Campo del Sur, en un parking subterráneo, con coche, salimos justo al lado de la Catedral, y anduvimos por las callejas adyacentes, visitando comercios y comprando varias cosas.
Si se va en autocaravana, una de las opciones es el Parking de Santa Catalina, de coordenadas 36.53395 -6.30770.
Comimos cerca de la Catedral, frente al Ayuntamiento, en el Restaurante Destino: razonable en calidad y precio, y muy agradable en su interior. Descubrimos una ensalada multitodo: multicolor y multingredientes, muy fresca, nos encantó.
Continuamos el recorrido por callejas que nos llevaron a:

Estuvimos cerca de sufrir un golpe de calor serio.

Inicialmente, teníamos previsto visitar el Puerto de Santa María, pero fuimos a Sanlúcar de Barrameda y a Jerez (luego explico por qué).

Viaje por Cádiz: Puerto de Santa María
Nuestro destino hoy es Puerto de Santa María.
Los lugares a visitar son, por este orden: Playa Puntilla, Casco antiguo, y la zona del Río Guadalete, donde se concentra el ambiente en sus terrazas.
Utilizaremos el párking gratuito, sin servicios, existente en la Playa Puntilla, cuyas coordenadas son: 36.584897, -6.236508.
Otras opciones son las siguientes:

- Centro Comercial Paseo: 36.616583, -6.211323; gratuito, con ticket de Carrefour, y servicios
La distancia a recorrer son, ida y vuelta, unos 60km.
Los desplazamientos a pie supondrán unos 4km.)
Cambiamos Puerto de Santa María por Sanlúcar de Barrameda, porque al llegar al Puerto el calor era asfixiante, el aire quemaba literalmente.
Finalmente no visitamos tampoco Sanlúcar de Barrameda y terminamos en Jerez de la Frontera.
La razón es que al llegar a Sanlúcar quisimos visitar las bodegas de la manzanilla La Guita, de la que soy ferviente admirador y consumidor. El problema es que tienen dos plantas en Sanlúcar: una en el centro, la histórica, cerrada; otra a las afueras, activa, pero sin posibilidad de visita.
La tercera, visitable y con tienda para comprar, la más moderna, está en Jerez de la Frontera, así que acabamos aquí de rebote.

Sanlúcar de Barrameda nos espera.
Los lugares a visitar son, por este orden: Recinto Ferial, Playa Bajo Guía, Parque de las Piletas, Centro urbano, Palacio Ducal de Medina Sidonia, Castillo de Santiago, Plaza del Cabildo, y Castillo del Espíritu Santo.

Otra opción es el área de AC, con servicios, cuyo coste diario son 10€, y con electricidad y duchas aparte, situado frente al mar y con parada de bus al centro (a 5km), y cuyas coordenadas son: 36.762040, -6.395688.

Con tanto trajín y cambios, llegamos a la bodega de la Manzanilla La Guita en Jerez poco después del cierre de la tienda al público, quedándonos con un palmo de narices. Las limitaciones de la Covid-19 seguían haciendo mella.
Así que dejamos la carretera y nos acercamos a la ciudad:
Aparcamos el coche en una callejuela junto a la Iglesia de Santiago y recorrimos Jerez:

- Alcázar:
- Ayuntamiento:
Comimos cerca de la Catedral, en el Restaurante Bar Mónica, donde volvimos a pedir la ensalada de Cádiz y donde el camarero que nos atendió nos remitió a una tienda cercana al Ayuntamiento, en la Plaza Plateros, de un conocido suyo que se preciaba de tener buenos finos y manzanillas.
Y allí que nos fuimos: compramos dos botellas de palo cortado y otras dos de vermut blanco, todas ellas de Lustau, muy buenas. Para entonces, nuestro retoño ya nos había comprado dos botellas de moscatel especial de Chipiona.
Volvimos al coche y a Costa Ballena.

Pueblos blancos de la Serranía Gaditana: Zahara de la Sierra, Grazalema y Setenil de las Bodegas
En este viaje en autocaravana por la provincia de Cádiz, no deben faltar los preciosos pueblos blancos de la Serranía de Cádiz, de los que podemos destacar: Setenil de las Bodegas, Algodonales, Zahara de la Sierra, Olvera, y Grazalema.
Se ha de valorar la conveniencia de ir en fin de semana a estos preciosos pueblitos que, a buen seguro, estarán atestados de turistas.
Puede que sea oportuno ir entre semana, si es posible, para poder verlos y disfrutarlos sin aglomeraciones.
El primer pueblo blanco que vamos a visitar de la Serranía Gaditana es

Los lugares a visitar en Zahara de la Sierra son, por este orden: Castillo, Torre del Homenaje, Iglesia Santa María de Mesa, Mirador calle Manchega, Centro urbano, y Mirador calle Lagunetas.
Luego, salvo excepción, la visita se va desarrollando según los pies y los ojos te van llevando.
La gastronomía local se basa en los productos de la matanza del cerdo, y las sopas hervidas.
La artesanía se centra en el esparto (canastos y alforjas).
La toma del castillo moro en 1483 fue considerada como el principio del fin del Reino de Granada. Su Torre del Homenaje es testigo de aquello: en uno de sus muros hay una abertura, conocida como la raja del viento, por donde penetraron los asaltantes cristianos.
Utilizaremos el párking gratuito que hay frente al Restaurante Al lago, con vistas al pantano, cuyas coordenadas son: 36.842278, -5.389806.
Estaba previsto incluir Algodonales, pero finalmente no se visitó.
Los lugares a visitar en Algodonales son, por este orden: Ermita de la Virgencita, Fuente del Algarrobo, Ayuntamiento, Iglesia Santa Ana, Ermita del Nazareno, Centro urbano, y Guitarras Bernal (artesano guitarra flamenca).
Utilizaremos el Area AC sita en la calle Zahara de la Sierra, gratuita, a la entrada del pueblo junto al Auditorio, cuyas coordenadas son: 36.874212, -5.410079.
La distancia recorrida, ida y vuelta, son unos 250km.

Los lugares a visitar en Grazalema son, por este orden: Mirador calle Angosta, Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación, Centro urbano, e Iglesia de Nuesta Señora de la Aurora.

Lo que ha hecho famoso a Grazalema son los bosques de pinsapos, reliquias vivientes de la última glaciación alpina, declarados de interés científico por la UNESCO. Hace falta permiso para visitarlos.
También famosa por ser el lugar más lluvioso de España, al estar situado en una ladera rocosa de más de 300m en la sierra gaditana.
La gastronomía local es variada: sopa de Grazalema, gazpacho de San Miguel, salmorejo, conejo campero y cabrito, productos de la matanza y también las tortillas de tagarninas (espárragos trigueros, creo).
La repostería ofrece: amarguillos, cubiletes, bollos y tortas.
La artesanía abriga con las famosas mantas de lana usadas por los bandoleros que deambulaban por estas serranías.

Los lugares a visitar son, por este orden: Ayuntamiento, Calle Vieja (miradores), Plaza Andalucía, Calle Mina, Mirador del Carmen, Calle del Carmen, Centro urbano, Cuevas del Sol, y Cuevas de la Sombra.

Setenil destaca, sobre todo, por su casco urbano con las casas excavadas en las rocas.
La gastronomía local está basada en los productos de la matanza del cerdo, y también cocidos o potajes.
La repostería local tiene su centro en el dulce de membrillo.
La artesanía luce en el latón y el esparto.
El nombre de Setenil proviene del latín septem nihil, que significa siete veces nada, en alusión a las siete veces que los cristianos intentaron, infructuosamente, conquistarla.
Se puede utilizar el párking gratuito sito en: Calle de las Cabrerizas, 8, Setenil de las Bodegas 11692, GPS: 36.864484, -5.181655; está cerca de la Calle Calcetas.
Otra opción es el párking gratuito de Calle Ancha, cuyas coordenadas son: 36.861877, -5.172712
Y, yendo en coche, también se puede utilizar el parking de pago (subterráneo) que queda rodeando totalmente el pueblo, pero cerca del Ayuntamiento (por un lado) y de las cuevas (por el otro).

Los lugares a visitar son, por este orden:

- más retirado, pero no iremos, puede visitarse el Santuario Nuestra Señora de Regla.
Los desplazamientos a pie suponen unos 8km.
Chipiona es un pueblito, grande pero pueblito, encantador, acogedor, que conserva su espíritu tradicional, y que, a excepción de una gran afluencia de turismo, apenas ha cambiado.
Partiendo desde el área de autocaravanas del Puerto, vamos bajando hacia el centro urbano recorriendo el Paseo de la Cruz del Mar, a lo largo de la playa del mismo nombre, playa agradable donde las haya.
Se ha dado la circunstancia que, curiosamente desde Inglaterra y después de bloquear su turismo con destino España (no olvidemos que estamos con la pandemia Covid-19 encima), han puesto esta playa como modelo internacional:Cádiz.
Justo en esta zona, hay un parking grande de tierra para coches.
Caminando sosegadamente alcanzamos la escultura de la Cruz del Mar, que nos da entrada a la principal calle comercial, peatonal, incluso con obligatoriedad en determinados días de circular en el mismo sentido, donde abundan bares, restaurantes y comercios de todo tipo: Isaac Peral.
Hacia la mitad de esta calle, podemos salirnos a la izquierda hasta llegar a los dos lugares religiosos por excelencia de Chipiona, sin olvidar el Santuario de Nuestra Señora de Regla:

- Ermita del Cristo de las Misericordias:
Podemos seguir a lo largo de esta calle hasta alcanzar, perpendicularmente, el otro nervio comercial, la calle Víctor Pradera, con más comercios, estos ya habituales en cualquier ciudad, y supermercados y bancos.
Si no entramos en Isaac Peral, continuando a lo largo del paseo marítimo, vemos dos de los lugares más fotografiados de Chipiona:
- El Castillo, hoy Ateneo y Oficina de Turismo
- El Faro, en la Playa de las Canteras, con un entorno típico precioso y tradicional.
Entre el Castillo y el Faro, a pie de playa, tenemos el Restaurante Los Corrales, donde hemos cenado dos noches, lo cual indica nuestro grado de satisfacción, con su calidad y con su servicio. Además, el precio es razonable.

Cádiz, allá vamos.

Aunque finalmente no hicimos la excursión, por si fuera de interés y por si volvemos algún día, mantenemos la información de:

Para terminar esta viaje por la provincia de Cádiz, qué mejor que un viaje relajante y natural por el Parque de Doñana.
Haremos un viaje en barco desde Sanlúcar de Barrameda, obteniendo información a través de la web http://www.visitasdonana.com/visitas-a-donana/ y reservando las entradas con suficiente antelación a través del teléfono 956363813.
El viaje dura 2,5h aproximadamente y su coste es de unos 15€/pax.
El barco sale del pantalán de Bajo de Guía, en la Playa de Sanlúcar, frente a la Fábrica de Hielo, donde se recogen las entradas reservadas. Vuelve al mismo sitio.
Te dejan en el parque y te dan alrededor de 1h para que puedas moverte con libertad, por los sitios habilitados.

Viaje por Cádiz: Costa Ballena
Finalizaremos este viaje descansando estos dos últimos días en Costa Ballena con nuestro retoño y su pareja.
Imposible imaginar un mejor hasta pronto Caí.
15/07/2020 Miércoles
Desandamos el camino para, desde Chipiona, volver hasta Salamanca.
Pernoctaremos de nuevo en el área del Polígono Montalvo.
La distancia a recorrer son unos 600km.
16/07/2020 Jueves
Ultima etapa de este viaje por la provincia de Cádiz.
Desde Salamanca hasta Irún, unos 500km.
Ojalá hayamos sido capaces de transmitir información necesaria y oportuna para realizar este viaje, así como, y sobre todo, de transmitir las buenas sensaciones que hemos tenido recorriendo esta preciosa provincia, hasta ahora desconocida para nosotros.
Hay varios pueblos y lugares que queríamos haber visitado, pero, por el fuerte calor y por las habituales reestructuraciones de los viajes, no lo hemos hecho.
